After defeating Conor McGregor at UFC 196, Nate Diaz, a betting underdog, said he was not surprised that he won. The exchange happened with Joe Rogan during Diaz's post fight octagon interview. "I'm not surprised Mother Fuckers!" has lived on as one of Diaz's many memorable quotes.

Early in Dustin Poirier's career his hair was in a buzzcut, but at some point he grew his hair a bit and added a little bit of style, saying that one advantage he has over his opponents is that his hair is "Salon Quality". UFC fans believe Poirier has performed better since receiving his new haircut, and have nicknamed the new iteration of Dustin "Salon Quality Poirier".

Bangkok Ready means to be good at Muay Thai. Bangkok Thailand is the home of the martial art Muay Thai (Thai Kickboxing), and some of the best fighters in the world. To be "Bangkok Ready" is to be at such a high level of Muay Thai that you could go to Bangkok and compete with the best in the world. The phrase was made popular when Eddie Bravo told a story to Joe Rogan about an MMA fighter Gerald Strebendt who knew BJJ but then tried to master Muay Thai.
