Chael Sonnen makes fun of the Brazillian Nogueira brothers. Sonnen claims the Nogiera brothers, new to America, had never seen a bus before and thought it was a horse, and thus tried to feed a carrot. The story has remained a favorite in MMA fandom.

Khabib Nurmagomedov literally wrestled with bears when he was young. Nurmagomedov grew up in Dagestan, where as a nine year old boy, his father led him out towards the edge of the forest, where a bear cub was chained to a nearby tree. His dad then turned on a handheld camera, pointed it at his son, and ordered him to the wrestle the animal. Khabib, even at that young age displayed technique and heart.

GSP, who is a native French speaker speaking English as a second language, often says things that anglophones find humorous because his attempted insults are softened in translation.
